Why I Don’t Do Future Lover Readings?

Online tarot love reading, brutally honest

While tarot readings can provide useful insights and guidance, it’s important to remember that predicting the future, particularly in matters of love, is a difficult and nuanced task. Personal choices, external circumstances, and the actions of multiple individuals all have an impact on the future.

So when someone asks me who their future love partner will be and what they will look like, I tell them that this is not my area of expertise, and I am not the right reader for them.

Tarot readings are more effective at providing insights into current energies, obstacles that may be present or ahead, potential outcomes based on current paths, and guidance for navigating situations. The cards tap into the energies around the querent at the time of the reading, providing insights and advice to help them make informed decisions.

I feel more at ease doing readings for people who already have romantic relationships. With that said, there are various “past-present-future” spreads. However, there is a significant difference in the type of future we are talking about. The Past-Present-Future spread is a common tarot layout, but its purpose is not to predict specific future events, as some may expect from a psychic medium. Instead, this spread provides an analysis of an existing situation/problem by looking at its historical context, current influences, and possible future outcomes. The emphasis is on understanding the progression of energies rather than making specific predictions.

When it comes to determining who someone’s future lover will be, the situation is different. In this case, we are discussing a blind prediction of a person’s zodiac sign, age, and profession, which the querent is unaware of at the time of the reading.

As previously stated, love is a dynamic and evolving aspect of life, and its trajectory can be influenced by a variety of factors. Making concrete predictions about future lovers may oversimplify the complexities of human relationships and the freedom that individuals have to shape their own destinies. My goal is to empower and guide people, not limit or constrain them, by encouraging them to take an active role in shaping their own paths.

I avoid making predictions about future relationships or spouses/partners in tarot readings because I don’t want anyone to be influenced or form expectations based on this information. I want people to embrace their free will and make new connections without bias or limiting thoughts.

Free will is an important aspect of my approach. While tarot cards reveal current energies and influences, people have the freedom to make decisions that shape their romantic lives. Tarot readings offer guidance, but they do not replace the importance of personal decisions. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, after all.

In my opinion, specific predictions in tarot readings raise concerns about the possibility of self-fulfilling prophecies. It is critical to avoid influencing behavior in a way that aligns with a predicted outcome and instead empower individuals to make decisions based on their own preferences.

Ethically, I prioritize respecting people’s autonomy. It is critical for me not to cause unnecessary anxiety or rely on predictions. The goal is to empower people to actively shape their own paths, whether in love or in other aspects of their lives.

The same goes for physical descriptions. I think this one is even worse. Using tarot cards to provide physical descriptions exceeds their intended purpose. Tarot cards are symbolic tools used to convey spiritual, emotional, and psychological insights, emphasizing broader energies and influences over specific details. Using tarot cards to provide physical descriptions can be inaccurate due to the subjective nature of readers/querents, raising ethical concerns.

So, what if someone asks me if so and so will marry or date in the future? I’d approach such a question with caution as well. While I understand the client’s curiosity, predicting whether two people will form a relationship is a limitation of free will, personal choices, and dynamic circumstances. I’d emphasize the risks involved in attempting to predict these types future predictions in relationships.

Instead, I would provide a reading that focuses on the current energies and dynamics between the individuals, revealing potential connections, challenges, and areas for growth. This approach allows for a more nuanced examination of the current situation, empowering the client to make informed decisions based on the information provided.

This is certainly my personal approach to the readings, as well as what I am and am not comfortable with. Each tarot reader has his or her method of doing things, and it is not my place to tell anyone what to do or not do. What is your opinion? Please share in the comments.
